How to reduce your cost of living to a quarter of your expenses

How can we so boldly declare that you can cut your expenses/living costs by a quarter on our home page? And how do we design our service so that we can save not only your money but also your time?

When we analyze our monthly expenses (excluding loans that we must pay), we often find that what costs the most are rent and food. So let’s focus on them.

On rent, let’s use a hard benchmark to beat: the cheapest state to live in for the USA (Mississippi).

Using Numbeo cost of living comparison, we find that a 1 bedroom Apartment in the City Centre costs almost 3 times more in Jackson, Mississippi (866.67 USD/month) than it is in Tangerang, a city that’s on one of our offerings (304.22 USD/month).

However, it seems to be a bit unfair to do a cost of living comparison between Mississippi and Tangerang (a city that’s very close to the national capital of Indonesia, Jakarta). So let’s compare the most populous state of the USA (California) with the state with the highest population in Indonesia (Jakarta). Based on Numbeo, we see that the difference is now more than 4 times with California costing us 1,708.67 USD/month and Jakarta (another city that’s also on one of our offerings) costing us 391.98 USD/month.

We understand that statistics from a website can be very different than real-life data. You might live with a smaller budget or you might feel that you are OK with more expensive accommodation if it’s better for your living and working condition. Be aware that we’re not giving you the cheapest option that we know of. We’re giving you the accommodations that can give you a good quality of life. Therefore, we encourage you to calculate your own life expenses and compare them to our service offerings so you can count how much money we can save you with the standard of living that we are able to provide for you.

If you really want to optimize, of course, you can try researching the cost of living around the world and find the best possible deal for yourself. However, if you want to save your time so you can focus on your work, hopefully, the information we’ve provided you on this page can convince you to use our service. And if not, feel free to contact us so we can understand more about your needs, wants, and worries!

But, wait! What about food and drink?

We know that you can eat instant noodles every day or cook for yourself in the States to save on food. And honestly, you can do the same in Indonesia. A diet of Indomie noodles, cup noodles, and instant ramen can cost you just 1 USD per day! And if you decide to cook, you can live on just 2-3 USD per day in Indonesia (we have cheap vegetables, tempeh, eggs, and rice). If you like to eat out, our cuisine, rich with tasty spices that make foreigners miss Indonesia, won’t cost you more than 12 USD per day. We also love fried chickens, with many street vendors’ prices starting at 1 USD per portion or less.

However, so that we can have more certainty that you’ll be healthy in Indonesia and so that you can focus on working, we also provide a catering service which will be mandatory in your first month (terms may change so please contact us first) while you’re adjusting your gut and exploring what kinds of food would you like to eat in Indonesia.
